Not Your Regular Ladies Brunch | DFW Bosses Bunch

I almost lost faith in Women's Empowerment Events. No seriously! When was the last time you attended a networking event whose promotion enticed so many expectations but fell short? Short of teaching, genuine networking and surprisingly short of empowerment. Besides women being in attendance and panelists sharing their stories, there isn't much else empowering about empowerment events these days. However, we at Her Image refuse to give up on women's empowerment and we're definitely always down to #ConnectWithHer.

Now y'all know Her Image is all about Black Girls Sprinkling Magic effortlessly and yesterday we had a chance to catch a whole lot of magic in action.

Her Image recently had the honor of attending the second annual #DFWBossesBrunch in Dallas, created by @_GucciTheBeauti. The Bosses Brunch is the Ultimate Business Women's Brunch packed with empowerment, marketing tips, the ins and outs of owning a business, a whole lot of #GemDrops and of course some shopping. Her Image showed up inspired and ready to capture some black girl bosses in their element. The event was more than a women's brunch it was the ultimate girl boss experience. I literally got overwhelmed by all the black queens in the building because I wanted to meet everyone.

How many times have you attended a networking event and everyone appeared stuck up, remained in their cliques and barely networked because they were busy drowning in mimosas, snapchatting it up and eating all the food? I'M SICK + TIRED OF IT & IT'S TIME WE START CALLING THEM OUT. Just not today.

Now, the DFW Bosses Brunch exceeded expectations. It was a whole lot of melanin, a good balance of networking and real, actionable business tips being shared by fellow black girl bosses.

Black Girl Magic Break...

The moment I walked into the building, the ambience let me know I was in the right place, at the right time. The queens at the door greeted you with big beautiful smiles. There were beauties everywhere, taking pictures, shaking hands, hugging, smiling and styling. Clearly, I mean scroll up and glance at those beauties again. The music was nice and subtle. The perfect volume to vibe out and have casual conversation without the sound overpowering the chatter. One of my biggest pet peeves at events. The event kicked off with brunch and mingling hour and that's exactly what was going on. As the attendees enjoyed unlimited mimosas, they had the chance to connect and shop with vendors. A perfect mix of black excellence filled the floor for attendees to shop with. These vendors included but weren't limited to @Trip_Z_Art, Tha Hair Trap, @donthejunkman, Couture Connoisseur, Joy Luxe Hair, Starlit Bath + Body, @TaxDynastyFinancial, Stuk Up Season, Glitz On Canvas and @_Sneakytreats4u.

This years panelists consisted of the multifaceted @_Msbuttons of @shopbuttonstyles, @thahairtrap whose products needed no introduction, the stunning and light filled @chasitysamone whose elegance needed no verbal context, and the super talented @roxielashes who was dropping gems left and right. The panelists covered everything from excelling in the beauty industry, steps to opening up a brick and mortar, how to stand out in a saturated market, the power of social media and more.

This was refreshing for me seeing as how I have attended so many women's empowerment events that I'd need more fingers than panelists combined to count. What made this brunch different from the rest is that it wasn't just a brunch. Yes, the food was good and the unlimited mimosas were even better but the fact that the attendees were able to learn quality and quantitative steps towards launching and growing their businesses made this brunch impactful. It's something about being in a room amongst women that look like you, are in different levels of their careers and willing to share information that most wouldn't that really solidified this event.

Its safe to say after attending the DFW Bosses Brunch that I may just have some passion left in me and some faith left in Women's Empowerment. Between the many connections, the magical ambience and the valuable information shared, Her Image is definitely looking forward to next year and you should too. Do us a favor and click here and congratulate Gucci on such a beautiful and inspiring event!
