Artist Teaches Us To Get Comfortable With Discomfort Through Her Art

Meet writer, artist, self-taught illustrator, and unapologetic creative Carole Adele "Supreme" Williams. Adele was born and raised in South Central LA. As a child, while going through a rough time she chose to express herself by painting visually appealing yet disturbing content. As a self-taught illustrator, she continued to perfect her craft with determination and consistency.

As shared via adelewashere.com, "Constantly meshing her imagination with her observances, Adele began composing satirical and relatable comics on her social media thread highlighting the personal and not so personal day to day circumstances of todays woman which later escalated into subject matter magnifying the hypocrisy, shallowness and narcissism of social media and modern day society. "

Adele recently launched “a series of pretty timely and kinda disturbing circumstances” event and compilation of prints. At first sight of her content you may view in disgust and potentially feel a sense of guilt for continuing to view the prints, you may also view them as extremely provocative and to a great degree, inappropriate or maybe even hysterical but I ask that you remain open minded and look closely into the artistry that be.

With a keen eye to detail, “not so normal” perspective, creative means of self-expression and talent, Adele displays the day to day circumstances that simply comes with the territory of being a woman in her artwork. She has a way of making you feel comfortable while feeling a sense of discomfort which is extremely powerful and a life’s lesson in itself. Adele's work teaches us to embrace who we are as women and simply as human beings in the good, the bad, the ugly and the uncomfortable. Her artwork features sex, love, regretful circumstances, uncomfortable situations, the soft and subtle side of black women as a means to own your authentic self.

Adele made her first debut in her solo exhibit in 2016 titled, "The Pretty Nasty Imagination of Adele Supreme".

In addition to her extrinsic artwork, animations, and appealing personal brand, Adele is also the co-author and illustrator of children's book, "My Hair Grows Up". She also recently debut an animated series, "Oh My God, Yes! A Series of Relatable Circumstances".
